Abstract

The codes DORT (Two-Dimensional Discrete Ordinates Transport Code) and TORT (Three-Dimensional Discrete Ordinates Neutron/Photon Transport Code) which are the main components of the code package DOORS 3.2a, are designed for the calculation of space-energy distribution of neutron and photon fluxes and their functionals, including the problems with a very high degree of radiation attenuation. DORT and TORT are deterministic transport codes, implementing a discrete ordinate method for the solution of transport equation for the transport of neutrons and photons, respectively, in 2-d (XY, RT, RZ) and 3-d (XYZ, RTZ) geometries. Together with the codes a multigroup constants library was verified, that was based on ENDF/B-6 Version 8 evaluated nuclear data files that was primarily intended for the solution of radiation transport problems in the compositions of fast sodium-cooled reactor shielding. The library contains the data on nuclear reaction cross-sections in the 175-group energy subdivision for neutrons and 38-group subdivision for photons. The constants for DORT code transport calculations were prepared using the AMPX-77 software system.
