Abstract

In paper the operation experience of the nuclear pumped optical quantum amplifier (NPOQA) pilot model – plant “B” (IPPE) with ignition pulsed reactor BARS-6 on 235U is analyzed. It is shown that neutron feedback “laser module ignition reactor” essentially restricts the NPOQA power engineering. The method for decrease of the neutron feedback by means of replacement of 235U into threshold fissile element 237Np in ignition reactor is proposed. It is shown that application of such reactor would allow to increase 10–20 times energy and power of a pumping pulse in laser module of the plant “B” NPOQA pilot model.
