Abstract

The work describes the results of critical and correlation measurements that were performed at VNIITF with high enriched uranium assemblies in iron and copper reflectors. Benchmark experiments results were used for validation of neutron-physical data and computer codes which used in neutron transport simulations.
The work also briefly describes the techniques of investigation into integral characteristics of assemblies: determination of critical gap between upper and lower parts of the system under study, corresponding to critical state of delayed neutrons, building correlation functions, which characterize time behavior of neutron field, determination of asymptotic roll-off constant dependence on a gap α(H) and value ∂α/∂H.
One can find the results of experiments. Calculation benchmark models for assemblies were built, and numerical modeling of experiments was made according to code PRIZMA using various libraries of evaluated nuclear data. Comparative analysis was performed of calculation and experimental data.

Keywords
benchmark experiments, uranium assemblies in copper and iron reflectors, correlation measurements, asymptotic roll-off constant and life time of prompt neutrons
