Abstract

The creation of a new generation nuclear energy system is aimed at implementing the Strategy for the sustainable long-term development of the Russian energy system, increasing the share of nuclear generation in electricity generation, and meets the concept of achieving carbon neutrality in the field of energy. The given task can be solved by efficient replacement of power generation facilities with new generation power units with VVER-type reactors and economically competitive fast neutron reactors. At the same time, the development of projects of innovative reactor plants with VTGR will allow to consider the possibility of using nuclear technologies in the field of non-electrical application. The increase in nuclear and radiation safety and compliance with the requirements at the level of Generation IV plants is carried out when designing new reactors of the VVER, BN, VTGR type. Changes in system requirements, primarily in terms of technical and economic indicators, determine the development of projects, the multivariability of the NPP organization, which determines the tasks of system research of complex energy systems using a wide range of criteria, including criteria for non-energy use of nuclear facilities. The development of nuclear technologies BN and VTGR ensures an increase in the level of safety at all stages of the life cycle of nuclear power system facilities, the production of electricity, high-temperature heat, solving the problems of efficient use of natural nuclear fuel, closing the nuclear fuel cycle, the development of radioactive isotopes, products of the technological cycle, the development of international business.
