Abstract

Radiation protection is an important elements of substation of design characteristics of reactor installations in terms of ensuring safety of personnel and the environment. For validation, the FRIGATE program with the NP48/20 constant library based on the evaluated nuclear data ENDF/B VI.8. The EAF2010 activation library was used to obtain reaction rates.
Validation was carried out using the international database of protective experiments with iron-water protective composition was selected Winfrith Water Iron Benchmark Experiment (ASPIC PCA Replica) (steel protection thickness up to 25 cm, water protection thickness up to 25 cm), ASPIS Neutron Gamma Ray Transport Through Water Steel Arrays (steel protection thickness up to 30 cm, water protection thickness up to 40 cm), Fontenay aux Roses 60 cm NAIADE 1 Light Water Benchmark (water protection thickness up to 150 cm). The reaction rates on the isotopes S-32 (n, p), RH-103 (n, p), P-31 (n, p), Mn-55 и Mn-55 with a casing of cadmium (n, γ), B-10 (n, α) it the composition of BF3 chamber were calculated, and the neutron and photon exposure doses were calculated.
The work performed demonstrates the agreement between the calculated and experimental data the obtained relative differences do to exceed 30 %, which confirms the reliability of the used obtained results conclusions on improving the accuracy of calculations and minimization of errors were made.
The materials presented in the article were used in certification of the FRIGATE software tool and may be of interest to radiation shielding specialist.
