Abstract

Investigation of the Bi-Pb-Sn-Cd melt are made by the method of thermodynamic modelling by the program complex TERRA to the model of the ideal solution of interaction products at 300–3000K and pressure 1 atm. Concentration and temperature dependences of the content of the melt components are calculated. The composition of the vapor phase and the partial pressures of components of vapors over the melt is defined. The melt composition contains the condensed Bi, Pb, Sn, Cd, double and threefold intermetallic compounds. The concentrations of Cd3Bi2, Pb3Bi4,Bi2Sn3, Sn2Bi4, Bi7Pb, Sn4Bi2, Bi7Pb3, Sn5Bi are less than 10-5 molar portions at 1500 K. BiPb, PbSn, Pb3Bi, SnBi, PbSn3, CdSn, Sn3Bi,PbBi2Sn2 exist in the metal melt, and their concentrations decrease because of the thermal dissociation. The formation of Pb5Bi4Sn4 occursin the temperature interval l800-1900 K, and its concentration increases from 4,197·10-5 to 2,824·10-2 molar portions accordingly. The vapors of Pb, Bi, Cd, Sn, Pb2, Bi2, Bi3, Bi4, Sn2, Cd2, the electronic gas, the ionised vapors of lead, bismuth, cadmium and tin are considered in the gas phase. The partial pressure of the Cd steam makes 1,5·10-5 atm. at 800 K. The partial pressure of the Pb vapor is 10-5 atm. at 1000 K. The partial pressure of the Bi steam is 10-5 atm. at 1030 K. The partial pressure of Sn is 3,1·10-5 atm. at1700 K. The partial pressure of Bi2 is 10-5 atm. at 1100 K. The partial pressure of Bi3 is 1,5×10-5 atm. at 1400 K. The partial pressure of Bi4 is 1,7·10-5 atm. at 1700 K. The partial pressure of Pb2 is 10-5 atm. at 1450 K. The partial pressure of Sn2 is 10-5 atm. at 2000 K. The partial pressure of Cd2 is 10-5 atm. at 1600 K.
