Abstract

In the paper presented results of preliminaryresults of heat and mass transfer calculationsin the cold trap mockup by means of CFD toolbox OpenFOAM. Calculations have been carried out in two different cases: conjugated heat transfer simulation on 2D symmetrical mesh and heat and mass transfer simulation in the region of sodium flow inside cold trap on 3D unstructured mesh. Application of calculation approach byconsecutive thermal hydraulic modelling and mass transfer simulation by means of open CFDtoolbox opens great opportunities in planning of scheduled experiment and in the process of cold trap optimization as well.
