Abstract

The subject of the study is to identify regularities of changes in the coefficients of local hydraulic resistance in the adjacent outlet channels going from the pressure chamber.
The purpose of this work is to identify the regularity of changes in the ratio of the lost total fluid pressure to the velocity pressure in the adjacent outlet channels from the pressure chamber, at various parameters of the fluid flow entering them.
The experimental and calculated data were obtained at a certain range of the ratio of flat-type pressure chamber dimensions, turbulent fluid flow in the pressure chamber, and identical mass flow rate through it.
The degree of influence of the conditions for fluid supply from the inlet channels to the pressure chamber on the fluid flow pattern in the pressure chamber has been established at a constant rate of mass flow through the pressure chamber and at the turbulent flow motion.
A previously unknown regularity of changes in the ratio of the lost total fluid pressure to the velocity pressure has been established in adjacent outlet channels from the pressure chamber.
The practical significance of the study consists in obtaining the experimental data on hydraulic resistance coefficients in isolated flow-metering channels and adjacent outlet channels, mass flow rates in the inlet and outlet channels, calculated data on fluid flow, and in determination of the regularity of changes in these coefficients depending on the parameters of the fluid flow entering the outlet channels.
The results of the study have practical and scientific value, meet the current needs of the nuclear industry, and reduce errors in modeling the hydrodynamics of pressure chambers at nuclear power plants.
